QIGONG (chi kung)

Qi-gong is an ancient Chinese Health Care System that includes physical postures, movement, breathing techniques and focused intention. It‘s very similar to yoga in these respects, but it’s completely different! Yoga and Qi-Gong are like branches on a very old Eastern mind/body tree.

The word Qi-Gong is made up of two Chinese words. Qi is translated to mean “the life force” or “vital energy that flows through all things in the universe.” The second word, Gong, means “accomplishment or “skill that is cultivated though steady practice. Together, Qi-Gong means cultivating energy.

The gentle, basic movements of Qi-Gong can be easily adapted for those with physical challenges from knee or back injury to the stress of extra weight). It can also be practiced by all age groups.
